Derby della Capitale Expected to Brew for Metz’s Mikautadze

Milan were reported towards the end of last season to be close to luring Georges Mikautadze from French outfit Metz, but nothing materialized. As the weeks have passed by, links with the Rossoneri have dulled down, but several other clubs, including a couple of Italian giants have taken heed for the Georgian attacker.

As relayed by L’Equipe (via Tuttomercatoweb), Lazio and Roma have amped up efforts to sign the versatile 22-year-old forward, who has been the subject of great transfer interest. Meanwhile, Metz have already denied Premier League outfit Burnley’s initial €15M alongside a truncated offer by an unknown Bundesliga club.

Metz are willing to let Mikautadze leave only if an offer of €20M or more arrives in their coffers. All interested clubs, including Juventus, have the capacity to shell out the asking price set upon the Georgian’s head, and so it remains just a matter of time before he leaves the French minnows.

Mikautadze will see his Metz contract expire in the summer of 2026.
