Derby di Milano Brewing for Manchester City Ace Laporte

With Aymeric Laporte reportedly out of Pep Guardiola’s plans at Manchester City, both Milan giants have been put on high alert for the Spanish defender. Inter and Milan have witnessed a shaky domestic form in 2022/23, as they struggle with consistency mainly due to defensive problems.

As per Calciomercato.it, 28-year-old Laporte is set for a summer exit from blue half of Manchester.

Inter have long pondered to bolster their backline, given the long-standing saga surrounding Stefan De Vrij and PSG-bound Milan Skriniar. Having virtually lost Skriniar for free, they now also risk losing his Dutch teammate De Vrij in the same manner.

The Nerazzurri might be on the verge of losing two of their best stoppers, but it is the Rossoneri who have crumbled in spectacular fashion in recent weeks. Stefano Pioli’s side are currently on a six-match winless streak and defensive stability is what they require going forward.

Laporte is undoubtedly a fantastic addition to either outfit, but they are expected to encounter problems in negotiating his high wages at the English club. For the moment, he stays put in Manchester until the end of the season.
