Destinies of Ronaldo, Mbappé and Icardi Could Soon Be Intertwined

Cristiano Ronaldo could move to PSG as part of an international carousel of strikers, and Juventus could get Mauro Icardi in return. Now that Real Madrid have found their coach, they will do everything in their power to land their primary target for the summer: Kylian Mbappé. The French star has just a year left on his contract and, so far, he has not been won over by the offers of the French club. Florentino Perez is convinced he will be able to bring him to the Merengues, La Gazzetta dello Sport reports.

If that were the case, PSG would try to replace him with another ace and, with Lionel Messi likely staying at Barcelona, Ronaldo would be the natural top choice. The Bianconeri are already preparing for his departure, and returning coach Massimiliano Allegri has been informed of it beforehand.

The Portuguese star is now worth €29M on the balance sheets. Icardi was bought out from Inter last year for €50M, and his financial value is €40M. The difference is not particularly significant, and a swap for the same price tag would make sense for both sides economically speaking.

Juventus would prefer to obtain Paul Pogba from Manchester United in the same scenario, but there have no been openings on that front thus far. Icardi has been linked to the Bianconeri multiple times in the past. Two years ago, he was rumored to join as part of a trade with Paulo Dybala, but he moved to Paris instead. He recently stated that he is going to stay put this summer, dismissing the buzz.
