Di Lorenzo: “I Hope To Bring Some of My Naples in This Italy Side”

Napoli captain Giovanni Di Lorenzo is eager to get running with the Azzurri, as they prepare for back-to-back UEFA EURO Qualifiers – first facing England in Naples, before traveling to Malta. He hopes to transpose the ‘fun’ his Partenopei side is having onto the national team.

Speaking at Coverciano, Di Lorenzo backed the Azzurri to feed off the excitement brewing within the Napoli camp ahead of their Scudetto victory.

“From Napoli I would like to bring to the national team, in addition to the game, also the fun we experience when we are on the pitch. Due to some negative results we lost a bit of enthusiasm and light-heartedness, which we had at the 2021 European Championships. Now we have to find all this again and I hope to bring some ‘of my Naples in this Italy.” (via VoceGiallorossa)

Italy will first take on England in a mouthwatering encounter at the Stadio Diego Armando Maradona, in what will be the first round of matches in Group C.
