Di Lorenzo Voices Desire for Long-Term Napoli Stay

Napoli right-back Giovanni Di Lorenzo has affirmed his love for the Partenopei by disclosing that he would like to stay at the club until the end of his career. The Italian international is currently in his third season with the club, having made 137 appearances so far since joining from Empoli in 2019/20.

As quoted by Il Mattino (via TuttoNapoli), Di Lorenzo revealed his intention of continuing to guard the Napoli right flank for many years to come, perhaps until he retires.

“I want to stay in Naples and play here until the end of my career”

Luciano Spalletti’s side is expected to undergo an overhaul, especially in the frontline, as club legend Lorenzo Insigne heads to Toronto FC and Dries Mertens’ future is still unknown.

However, the former Roma coach will not need to worry about the right side of defense after Di Lorenzo reiterated his love for Napoli, despite having received interest from top European clubs such as Atletico Madrid.

The 28-year-old wingback dreams of captaining the club one day, and that day might not be too far, considering his experience and charisma on the field. He recently extended his contract until the summer of 2026.
