Di Maria and Juventus Extension Talks Reach a Standstill

Following the Bianconerri’s 2-1 defeat to Sevilla within the second leg of the semi-finals, which forced the Old Lady out of the Europa League, contract negotiations between Juventus and Argentine Angel Di Maria have reached a stand-still.

Despite the turbulent relationship between the 34 year-old and Max Allegri in the early stages of the season, it seemed that Di Maria underwent a change of heart and desired to extend his stay.

However, transfer expert Gianluca Di Marzio reports that Il Fideo is reluctant about extending his stay in Turin and could possibly depart the Serie A giants after only one season since his arrival from PSG as a free agent.

Since becoming a Bianconero, Di Maria has been quite an instrumental piece of Allegri’s squad within the final third of the pitch, tallying four goals and four assists in 23 games played within the Serie A thus far.

The departure of the veteran winger can cause major turmoil within the Juventus camp as Federico Chiesa and Dusan Vlahovic are also rumored to be unsatisfied with their current club, leaving Allegri with very limited reinforcements up-top.
