Di Maria to Return to Rosario for Fitting Career End?

Angel Di Maria has played his part in a tumultuous campaign under Massimiliano Allegri at Juventus. However, the Argentine is closing in on his contract expiration date and could very well leave the club, instead of extending his stay by another year. Talks have been ongoing between the two parties.

As per Spanish outlet Mundo Deportivo (via Calciomercato), Di Maria wishes to end his career in Rosario Central, his boyhood club back in Argentina. Rosario sporting director recently clarified in a statement that the club would be happy to receive Di Maria again, and see to it that he ends high career on a high and fitting note.

Having joined Juventus from Paris Saint-Germain on a free transfer, Di Maria was initially expected to activate the option of extending his contract by a further year. But he might just leave the Bianconeri at the end of the campaign, even if they qualify for the UEFA Champions League.

Di Maria joined Rosario Central aged just four, and made his professional debut in December 2005, before rising through the ranks to move to Benfica two years later, where he rose into the limelight.
