Dia in Demand as Salernitana Inch Closer to Permanent Move

Boulaye Dia has significantly helped Salernitana earn top-flight safety this campaign – enroute to ending the season as the league’s third-highest goalscorer with 16 goals. The Granata loanee punched above his weight in his first year in Italy following a temporary move from Villarreal, and might end up sealing a permanent transfer.

Having convinced the Salernitana management, including sporting director Morgan De Sanctis, Dia is in line to secure a permanent move to Campania, according to Calciomercato. It will cost Salernitana at least €12M to redeem the Senegal international’s services from the Yellow Submarines, as appended in the contract between the two sides last year.

However, interest from foreign sides, including from Premier League suitors such as West Ham United, means Salernitana will request at least €30M from potential suitors for Dia. 15% of the incoming fee will then be turned over to Villarreal.

Serie A giants Milan, Juventus, Inter, and Fiorentina are also interested in Dia, who was single-handedly responsible in delaying Napoli’s title celebrations this season with the equaliser at the Stadio Diego Armando Maradona
