Diaz Dream Diminishes for Roma as Real Madrid Ace Stays Put

Real Madrid forward Brahim Diaz’s ascendancy during the latter stages of the previous season has been well documented, and despite the arrival of Endrick and Kylian Mbappe in the forward line next season, the ex-Milan star is keen to prove his mettle in Madrid. Diaz has been the recipient of heightened interest from European heavyweights, including Roma, according to Footmercato.

Latest reports indicate that Real Madrid and Brahim are of the same opinion – to continue their future together, despite strong competition in attack and transfer interest from foreign clubs, including Tottenham Hotspur and the Giallorossi.

Diaz has rejected approaches from both clubs in a bid to secure his future with Los Blancos. Newly-appointed Roma director Florent Ghisolfi, who has been given a free hand in the club’s transfer strategy, is particularly interested in Diaz, whereas Spurs and Ange Postecoglou are seeking new reinforcements upfront.

However, the former Rossonero wants to continue fighting for a place in a star-studded Real Madrid line up. The record European champions have no intention to sell Diaz either, with the Spanish winger expected to play a key role under Carlo Ancelotti next season.

Our Take on Brahim Diaz

Although coming to Roma would give him more regular minutes and provide the opportunity to pair up with Paulo Dybala and Romelu Lukaku in attack, one cannot blame Diaz’s decision to stay put at a club where he won the La Liga and Champions League title last campaign.
