Dimarco Thrilled for Achieving Lifelong Dream of Being Inter Contributor

Federico Dimarco is delighted for finally being a regular at Inter after chasing the objective for a few seasons: “My first goal with the Nerazzurri meant a lot to me. It repaid all the sacrifices I made since I was a kid. I gave up a lot to get to this point. It was an incredible emotion. I grew up in Milan, and I have always lived here besides when I went out on loan. I am happy for coming back home.”

The fullback talked to DAZN: “I have always been an Inter fan. I used to watch games in the Curva, and it is a true honor for me to play with this jersey. My best memory is the Derby we won 4-2, with Maicon scoring with a long-range shot.”

Dimarco looked back at his development: “In my first game with Inter, in a pre-season friendly, Roberto Mancini fielded me as a box-to-box, and I did not know where to go. I learned how to play in the backline last year. Such role under Ivan Juric is similar to featuring as a winger elsewhere. I enjoyed it a lot. Moreover, I feel the love from Inter supporters. Many wrote to me during the past campaign because they wanted me to return.”

Dimarco indicated the best striker he played with so far: “Giampaolo Pazzini because he was very strong on headers. Those we have this season are good too. I model my game after many talented fullbacks. In my mind, the best Marcelo is something unreachable.”
