Dionisi Wants Sassuolo to Keep Up Momentum Against Napoli

Sassuolo will look to trip up another top team after stopping Milan. Coach Alessio Dionisi spoke to the media today ahead of the Napoli clash: “I would like to see the same attention and diligence defensively. I admonished the team yesterday because they have not always been there. We are aware of that. We have to show improvements tomorrow.”

Matheus Henrique got his first start in San Siro: “He deserved it as he worked hard. I am happy, and he had an excellent showing. He is a little banged up, and we will have to assess him in practice. We have a few solutions in the midfield. He played when it was the most appropriate time for him to do it.”

Sassuolo have successfully exploited high pressure to generate goals: “It is an element that is often disregarded. It worked well versus Milan. We will need to be equally compact against Napoli. I am looking forward to meeting Luciano Spalletti. I admire him for his results and personality. We are both Tuscans and coached Empoli.”

Napoli are coping without Victor Osimhen: “They have several top players anyway. Dries Mertens has recaptured some consistency, and he is used to the role. They have different traits, but they are both excellent.”

The coach stated that Sassuolo are not in the running for an eight-placed finish this year: “We deserve the position we have. We were ahead of our schedule before the Milan game. At times we did not obtain as much as we should have, but in the end, you reap what you sow.”

Dionisi updated on the fitness of Jeremie Boga, who has missed multiple matches: “He will practice today, and then we will see. We will not risk him, but he looked fine yesterday.”
