Dionisi: “Inter Will Come Here to Win, but We’ll Do the Same”

With match-week nine of the Serie A set to go underway tomorrow, Sassuolo prepare to host last year’s runners-up Inter at the Mapei Stadium. Ahead of the highly anticipated fixture, the Neroverdi boss Dionisi previews his side’s clash with La Beneamta.

As it stands, both teams currently sit joint-eighth within the standings, possessing 12 points each. However, Sassuolo seem to be in better form as they are coming off two consecutive wins against the likes of Torino and Salernitana.

At the beginning of the presser, the Italian tactician touched upon Inter’s impressive 1-0 victory against Spanish giants Barcelona within the Champions throughout the midweek fixtures:

“Inter deserved to win against Roma; against Barcelona, they put in a performance up to their standards. They had two different approaches in two different games. I believe they did well in both,” Dionisi said at a press conference.

“Then, of course, there is the tendency to analyse games depending on results. Inter will come here to win tomorrow, but we’ll do the same.”

In addition, the gaffer spoke about his squad’s impressive run of form compared to last season, particularly their defensive displays as they currently have a total of five clean sheets, which is the highest alongside Atalanta:

“I’ve seen a different attitude. I want to gain results and keep the balance. The aim is to play well, but sometimes you must have the right attitude and try to stop the opponents. On paper, Inter are better than us, so we must do well when we don’t have the ball.”
