Done Deal: Roma Set to Sign Juventus Winger

Roma might have seen their opening bid for Matias Soule rejected by Juventus, but they seem destined to sign the Argentine winger. Fabrizio Romano is adamant the 21-year-old’s move to the Stadio Olimpico is a mere formality after the clubs shook hands on a deal on Wednesday.

It’s believed Roma will pay Juventus a €26m fixed fee upfront and an additional €2m in easily achievable add-ons to bring Soule to the capital. But that’s not all. The Giallorossi may need to commit another €2m in complicated bonuses. On top of that, Juventus will receive a handsome 10% on the future sale.

All that suggests Roma have gone above and beyond to fulfill Daniele De Rossi’s dream of coaching Soule next season. As the Italian tactician prepares a comprehensive squad overhaul in his first transfer window in charge, Soule could be a centerpiece of a new-look Roma team.

It’s been a busy start to the summer for Roma, even though Enzo Le Fee remains the only marquee signing. De Rossi’s still in the hunt for Romelu Lukaku’s successor after the Belgian colossus returned to his parent club, Chelsea, at the end of last season.

Soule’s arrival should address the shortcomings on the wing, but Roma must add an out-and-out striker to De Rossi’s unit. Unfortunately, Jose Mourinho has hindered their bid to land Youssef En-Nesyri, who’s on the verge of swapping Sevilla for Fenerbahce.

The Moroccan’s impending move to Turkey leaves Roma with only a handful of options to get a prolific marksman ahead of the 2024/25 campaign.
