Juventus star Dusan Vlahovic has started to look like a striker who used to tear Serie A defenses apart during his career at Fiorentina. The 23-year-old’s second consecutive league brace inspired Bianconeri to a ruthless 3-0 victory at Lecce on Sunday night.
Vlahovic opened the scoring with a superb volley just before the hour mark before making it 2-0 with a poacher’s finish midway through the second half. Gleison Bremer’s towering header put the icing on the cake as Juventus left Inter in their wake, moving a point clear at the top.
Speaking to the press in the aftermath, the Serbia international praised the team effort and admitted Juventus are not thinking about Inter yet.
“I am happy, especially as I got to help the team. I could not have scored those goals without the team, we hope to continue like this,” the Juventus talisman told DAZN, as quoted by TWM.
“I am always calm, it’s just that perhaps my emotions look a bit more obvious on the pitch. We managed to win in a tough stadium against a team that had not lost here in four games.
“It is an important victory for us and above all we managed to keep a clean sheet too.”
Though the heavily anticipated Derby d’Italia is just around the corner, Vlahovic is adamant Juventus only care about beating Empoli in their next Serie A assignment.
“We are not thinking about that. We take it one game at a time, the next is Empoli and then we’ll think about Inter.“
