Despite a small thigh problem, Paulo Dybala came to the rescue in the return leg against Feyenoord, scoring a gem at the death to send the match into extra time, where Roma eventually pulled away. La Joya was elated in his post-game remarks to DAZN and Sky (via Tuttomercatoweb).
“I use the right foot very little, but it went well today. The route from the training center to the stadium was sensational today. It’s terrific how people experience football here. It was very nice. The faithful are extraordinary and help us a lot. It’s like having an extra player on the pitch. They’ll go home happy today.”
Dybala hailed the club’s spirit and the coach, who explained why he’s faring well with them.
“Everybody’s eager to win, which is key. Our coach has an incredible mentality that drives us. He made us play better with his changes. He had told us what would happen, and he was correct. The team and the boss are aware of what it takes to win in Europe since they did it last season too.”
Francesco Totti attended the match.
“I’ve spoken with him a few times, but not here in Rome. I’d be glad to have dinner with him, as I respect him a lot. Daniele De Rossi was present as well. Everybody wants to see this Roma, so we wish to give them something extra.”
Dybala was quizzed about a potential meeting with Juventus in the final but didn’t get ahead of himself.
“Sevilla are very familiar with this competition and will be a tough opponent, and we would have to advance too. The semis will be difficult. We’ll think about that afterward if everything goes well.”
