Dybala Set to Stay at Roma Despite Chelsea Advances

Paulo Dybala has been linked to Chelsea in the last few days, as confirmed also by Thiago Silva, who tried to convince him to join. However, his transfer is very unlikely. He returned to Italy Monday to reprise training and offered reassuring remarks to the press at the airport (via Goal).

“I’m very motivated and just a bit tired because of the travel. I’m happy to stay at Roma. Let’s get back to work.”

The Brazilian defender dished about La Joya to Sky as the two meet at Silverstone.

“I saw him in the paddock and was glad to run into him. I heard the buzz and asked him about it, but he didn’t want to answer. I’d like for it to happen, as he’s a world-class player. He would help us a lot.”

According to Tyc Sports’ Cesar Luis Merlo, Dybala won’t move to transfer to Chelsea because the English side isn’t interested.

The ex-Juventus star has a €12M release clause to transfer abroad if he wishes to. Roma are in talks to remove such a threat, Quotidiano Sportivo reports.

Our Take on Dybala and Chelsea

It would have been an odd move, as he found a perfect home, plus he’s a poor fit for the Premier League. The chatter about his exit won’t end until he gets a new deal.
