€65m ‘Low’ for Inter Targets Scamacca and Frattesi, Says Sassuolo CEO Carnevali

Inter have long set their sights on Sassuolo duo Davide Frattesi and Gianluca Scamacca – two of Italy’s most in-demand players – ahead of the 2022/23 season. The Neroverdi have produced some of the country’s best youth talents in recent seasons, from Manuel Locatelli and Domenico Berardi and Scamacca and Frattesi. And it is the latter duo who are poised to move from the Mapei Stadium at the end of the season.

However, club chief Giovanni Carnevali has warned any interested clubs, let alone Inter, that they will have to be willing to part with a considerable transfer sum in order to lure the in-form duo.

Speaking to Italian broadcaster GR Parlamento (via FCInterNews), the CEO made his stance clear, when quizzed if €65m would suffice to bring in both the players – presumably €40m for Scamacca and €25m for Frattesi.

“That valuation could be low, it is a low offer. But, it also depends on how we divide the fee up,” he started.

He went on to mention that Inter are not the only interested club and several other top clubs are on the hunt for their players. However, the Neroverdi have not yet received any concrete offers.

“We don’t have any need to sell, maybe we could sell only one. They are significant players with great prospects, and when clubs ask for them, we expect an appropriate offer. We’ve spoken for some time with Inter and also some other Italian and foreign clubs. To date we have not received any concrete offers,” he concluded.

Both Frattesi and Scamacca have emerged as promising Azzurri players. Milan and Juventus are the other Italian giants keeping close eye on proceedings.

Their futures are still up in the air and as Carnevali mentions, a move to a foreign suitor cannot be entirely overruled.
