The negotiation with Eintracht Frankfurt went into overtime, but Juventus managed to reach full agreement and Filip Kostic landed in Turin earlier today.

Eintracht Frankfurt Attempting to Keep Juventus Target

Juventus have identified Filip Kostic as their main objective for the left flank, but Eintracht Frankfurt are trying to convince him to stay. The German club offered the Serbian star an extension to make sure he does not leave or at least have more leverage in the talks. His current contract runs out in 2023.

Director Markus Krosche told Sport Bild.

“I talked to him over the phone last week and I am in touch with his agents. He will decide soon. We made an important offer, and it is up to him now.”

Die Adler proposed to match the prospective salary he would earn in Turin and add a few more years to his deal, the publication reports. According to Alfredo Pedullà, Kostic would like to move to Serie A, as he almost did in previous windows, and there have been multiple contacts with Juventus. On the other hand, the Bianconeri are currently prioritizing the potential free-agent signings of Angel Di Maria and Paul Pogba. The price tag of the 29-year-old would be €15/20M if he did not renew with Eintracht.

Our Take on Juventus Chasing After Kostic

The Old Lady could use a pure left winger as they have not had one since Douglas Costa fell off a cliff. Kostic is a proven commodity and a terrific assist-man, and Juventus are lacking on that front, and his evaluation is not excessive. However, they need to operate more decisively to sign him because the Bundesliga side is not messing about.
