Bundesliga giants Eintracht Frankfurt are tightening the noose on Milan’s Jens Petter Hauge after tabling the first official bid for the Norwegian. According to Calciomercato, the winger’s adventure at the San Siro could be coming to a premature end this summer, with the Germans pushing hard to close the deal with the Rossoneri.
Frankfurt already pitched Milan with an €8million plus add-ons offer for Hauge, but the Italian powerhouse insist they won’t sanction the move unless the German side raise their proposal to at least €14m. However, negotiations between the parties are well underway, and it looks like they will reach an agreement sooner or later.
Following a lovely-looking start to his Serie A journey, Hauge lost some steam and ended up playing second fiddle to Ante Rebic, Samu Castillejo, and Alexis Saelemaekers for most of the second part of the 2020/21 season. Yet, the 21-year-old possesses an undeniable quality, and there’s a genuine feeling he needs to find a suitable environment to cultivate his skills.
Though it initially seemed like Milan could send the winger out on loan to Torino or Udinese, it now appears that Hauge’s career in Lombardy approaches its definite end.
Per the latest reports, Frankfurt are determined to take the ex-Bodo Glimt starlet to the Bundesliga by the end of the summer transfer window. Die Adler and Milan are working on the formula of the deal that would satisfy each party, and negotiations are progressing well.
Frankfurt’s attempts to sign Hauge from Milan come amid the uncertainty surrounding the future of in-demand Filip Kostic. The Serbia international could move to Serie A this summer, with Inter and Lazio battling it out for his services.
