Eintracht President Distances Winger from Juventus Move

Juventus have seemingly ceased to pursue Filip Kostic as more pressing matters took center stage in the last couple of weeks. More teams are eyeing him, but he is still technically available. He has not accepted a large extension offered by Eintracht Frankfurt yet.

Peter Fischer, the president of the Bundesliga outfit, expressed his skepticism about the transfer to Sport1 (via TuttoSport).

“I do not know what Kostic wishes to accomplish by moving Juventus when they already have Angel Di Maria that plays on his flank. He would watch matches from the stands. I hope and believe he will stay with us. He can go to any pub without paying in Frankfurt. He is a very beloved player here.”

As far as offensive players are concerned, the Bianconeri are keying in on Alvaro Morata and Nicolò Zaniolo at the moment. The Serbian winger has just a year on his current contract, which keeps his price tag in check. But Die Adler are ready to compensate him handsomely if he decides to stay.

Our Take on Juventus and Kostic

The executive clearly works for his own interests and is lying through his teeth, as the attacker would mainly play on the left wing in Turin. The Old Lady has a huge hole in that role as Federico Chiesa will not be at full throttle in the first few months of next season.

If he indeed returned, Morata would be the starter there, but they would be better off signing a purer option. The 29-year-old should be a bigger priority than Zaniolo, as they are more set on the right side of the pitch, and figures to be way easier to purchase too. Such addition would give them a really sweet pair of assist-men up front.
