Liverpool and RB Leipzig had expressed outright interest in Napoli midfielder Eljif Elmas, and Inter have also been linked with the North Macedonian in recent weeks. Agent Nikola Gjosevski, who is one of the Elmas’ representatives alongside the player’s father, has confirmed foreign interest in his services, despite negotiations with Napoli for an extension.
Gjosevski spoke to CalcioNapoli24 (via Tuttomercatoweb) and disclosed the background behind the race for Elmas.
“Many speculations have been made recently, but there is only one truth. Only me and Eljif’s father are his official representatives and we are the only ones who are negotiating for his future.”
Elmas will see his Partenopei contract expire in the summer of 2025, noting which Napoli are said to have accelerated talks to extend his stay.
“Regarding the situation at Napoli I can confirm that we are in negotiations with Napoli for the renewal of the contract, but there are some dialogues with many clubs interested in Elmas. We will see what the future brings us.”
Elmas played a vital role for Luciano Spalletti’s Napoli last season enroute the historic Scudetto. He has been an integral part of the Partenopei setup ever since moving from Fenerbahce in the summer of 2019.
