Empoli Prodigy Baldanzi Reveals Roma Playmaker as Inspiration

Italy U19 playmaker Tommaso Baldanzi is experiencing his debut Serie A season in full flow, having recently scored the winner against Inter at San Siro. Baldanzi is one of Paolo Zanetti’s most favored players and the Empoli starlet has not disappointed. A visit to Roma is up next for the Azzurri.

Speaking to DAZN before the match, Baldanzi discussed one of Roma attacker Paulo Dybala’s influence on him as a player.

“I admire Dybala a lot. He is a player who covers my position very well. On a scale from one to ten, he is a ten and I’m not even on the scale yet. But I’m inspired by him because we have quite similar movements on the pitch.” (via RomaGiallorossa)

Roma have not lost a match against Empoli in Serie A since February 2007, but spearheaded by Baldanzi, the Tuscan outfit will look to upset the odds. They will look to seal their first-ever win at the Stadio Olimpico and extend their unbeaten streak to six games since the start of the new year.
