EPL Clubs Join Napoli, Lazio to Scout Real Madrid and Bayern Youth Product

Nice wonderkid Flavius Daniliuc has won the attention of several top clubs with his breakthrough campaign at Ligue 1. The Austria U21 center-back has been the subject of bolstering interest from European heavyweights, including Premier League clubs that started tracking him as early as last summer.

20-year-old Daniliuc emerged out of the youth ranks of Rapid Wien, before moving to Real Madrid’s famed La Fabrica ranks in 2011, where he won a youth league title, primarily playing in the midfield. His international transfer was one of the reasons why a transfer ban was imposed on the Los Blancos, along with city rivals Atletico Madrid, for breaching regulations of player transfers under 18 years of age.

Having spent three years in Madrid, he then moved to Bayern Munich’s youth academy in 2015, making his professional debut for the reserve team in 2019. A step up was necessary for the youngster and seeking the chance, French outfit Nice offered him the chance of regular first team football.

According to reports from GOAL, Premier League clubs join Napoli and Lazio in scouting the Austrian stopper. Southampton and West Ham United are understood to be the English clubs interested.

His emergence as a talented defender has propelled his market value to €7m – a price tag any interested suitor would not hesitate to part with, given his potential for heightened development in the coming years. The versatile defender has been used in a variety of roles already, including as a fullback under Christophe Galtier.

Daniliuc has already captained Austria’s U21 side and is set for a first senior appearance this year when current Manchester United manager Ralf Ragnick takes charge of the national team dugout from the summer.
