Everton ‘Contemplating’ Jose Mourinho Appointment

Roma boss Jose Mourinho is reportedly ‘under consideration’ by Everton to be the next manager, after the sacking of ex-Liverpool manager Rafael Benitez from the club’ ranks. This is according to reports from Sky Sports, which also mention that no official approach has been made by the Toffees for the Giallorossi gaffer.

Mourinho is committed to Roma, amid links between the Merseyside outfit and the Special One. Everton owner Farhad Moshiri is said to be a big fan of the Roma coach and thus is ‘contemplating’ bringing him to Liverpool. For the time being, Duncan Ferguson has already been appointed as the caretaker manager at Goodison Park.

The highly-rated Portuguese is not interested in leaving Roma at the moment, having only just returned to Serie A after a decade-long hiatus that has taken him through La Liga with Real Madrid and spells in the Premier League with Chelsea, Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur.

He signed a three-year contract with the Giallorossi at the start of the season and is only halfway through his first year.

No contact has been made by Everton yet, but Mourinho’s stance is already understood.
