Ex-Crotone Director Tells Fiorentina: “Napoli Changed With Kim”

Sporting director Giuseppe Ursino, who was at the helm of Crotone for 17 years, laid bare on Fiorentina’s requirements, sensing a strong reinforcement in defense would provide Vincenzo Italiano with the leap in quality. He drew comparisons with Napoli last term, as the Partenopei lured Kim Min-jae to boost their backline.

Speaking to FirenzeViola (via TuttoNapoli), Ursino stated the importance of balance at the Viola.

“This team needs more balance, especially in defence. With that, Fiorentina will be able to fight for the top. This year there are teams that need to make a leap in quality, among these I include Fiorentina.”

Ursino urged Italiano to pay heed to the significance of balance within Fiorentina’s 28-man squad.

“I’ve been following Italiano, he’s very good, but he has to improve in his attention to the defensive phase. Then of course, quality is also needed in the performers, and perhaps something is missing in defense. Look at what happened in Napoli with Kim: he changed everything. There they need a quick and strong player, perhaps left-footed.”
