Ex-Fiorentina Legend Batistuta Counts Juventus in Scudetto Race

Gabriel Omar Batistuta, the great Argentine marksman, believes the race for the Scudetto is up and running, and that all top-four teams have the chance to bag the league title, including Juventus.

The Fiorentina icon credits the tight race to the inconsistency of the Italian big guns, citing that no team has succeeded in maintaining equilibrium for a longer time.

In an interview with Sky Sport, he was quizzed on who will win the Serie A title.

To which he replied: “It will be a good fight, I would not reject anyone. Not even Juventus. There are so many points missing and there are no teams that win every match. There has been no continuity in a team that kills the championship.”

He also shared his thoughts on who could grab the UEFA Champions League title this season.

It ends again in England. Even if in football you never know, the English teams at the moment are a step above the others,” he said.

Juventus are only 7 points off league leaders Milan, who sit at the top with 60 points after a narrow 1-0 victory over title contenders and third-placed Napoli. However, it is Inter who still have the say, as they sit in second position with 58 points and an extra game in hand.

The Bianconeri have witnessed a revival in form of late, going unbeaten for 14 games since losing to Atalanta at the end of November last year.
