Ex-Juve and Roma Ace Pjanic Backs UEL Final Between the Duo

Ex-Roma and Juventus central midfielder Miralem Pjanic has backed his former teams to face one another in the UEFA Europa League final. The Giallorossi and Bianconeri are two of the last Italian clubs in the continent’s second-tier tournament. The Bosnian, who represented both in back-to-back stints, hopes either one wins the competition.

Speaking to La Gazzetta dello Sport (via VoceGiallorossa), Pjanic revealed what he wishes to see on May 31st in the final of the Europa League.

“The match for Juventus is going to be difficult against the Portuguese club (Sporting Club). I hope that the Bianconeri will go through to the Europa League. I dream of a Juve-Roma final in Budapest.”

Pjanic also had his say on Nicolò Zaniolo, who left Rome after months of unrest.

“I think he made the right choice by going to Galatasaray. Turkey will do him good, I say this from personal experience. He is young and has enormous potential: I wish him to find peace of mind again, and if he works hard, then the big Italians will come back to him.”

Pjanic spent five years at Roma, from 2011 to 2016, before moving to Juventus on a five-year deal that culminated with his move to Barcelona. He currently plies his trade in UAE Pro League for Sharjah FC.
