Ex-Juventus Striker Plays Coy on Roma and Milan Rumors

Alvaro Morata has been linked with another Serie A return but not at his beloved Juventus, even though the Bianconeri could be in the market for a striker come next summer. He was quizzed about the interest by Roma and Milan in an interview with TuttoSport (via Calciomercato).

“I swear I haven’t heard anything about that. I’m under contract with Atletico Marid until June 30th, 2024. My agent hasn’t told me anything, at least for now. Then you know how things go in football and especially in the transfer market.”

Morata didn’t shut the door on a departure.

“If there were favorable conditions and suitable opportunities for the buyer and the seller arose, then even situations that appear certain could change. But, I repeat, I don’t know anything about that at the moment.”

The Spaniard dished on Dusan Vlahovic’s struggles.

“I’ve played with him for four months last season. I esteem and respect him. He’s still young, but he has a grown-man character. He doesn’t need to mature, as he already has a strong temperament and tenacity. His only objective is to do well at Juventus, and he works hard to achieve it. The criticism against him is unfair since he was hampered by injuries, sports hernia in particular. A dip in form can happen to anybody. His skills are undeniable.”

Morata says he will be backing Juventus in Europa League and touched on Paul Pogba.

“Potentially dedicating the trophy to him will provide extra motivation. We are friends, and he’s a formidable player. I contacted him after his recent injury. He’s already focused on recovering. He’ll return as soon as possible and will resume being one of the best midfielders in the world.”
