Juventus vs Empoli 4-0: A Walk in the Park for the Old Lady

For the first time this season, Juventus entered a two-game winning streak as they thumped Empoli 4-0 in the curtain-raiser of Serie A Round 11. It was all easy for the Bianconeri at the Allianz Stadium, as they benefited from goals by Moise Kean, Weston McKennie, and Adrien Rabiot – who bagged a somewhat unusual brace.

Paolo Zanetti’s Azzurri tried to resort to ball possession to counter the Juventus’ attack but it was no use. For one time, the Bianconeri set foot on the pitch with the right mindset and were in control from the get-go.

Kean found the back of the net against Empoli for the third time in his career, coming back to scoring ways after a six-month drought. The former PSG man opened the scoring after just eight minutes as he made the best out of a Filip Kostic cross from the left side.

Juventus’ second came from a Juan Cuadrado corner kick that found McKennie’s perfectly-timed header in the middle of the box. Rabiot rounded up the scoring late in the game, first finalizing another Cuadrado corner and then converting a Danilo assist during stoppage time.

The Old Lady won by a four-goal margin for the first time since ousting Parma in the 2020-21 season under Andrea Pirlo’s tenure. It’s too early to say whether Massimiliano Allegri’s boys are out of their bad moment, but tonight’s win provided at least a good boost to their morale ahead of the decisive Champions League against Benfica next Tuesday.
