Ex-Roma Wingback Florenzi Thanks Milan for Permanent Deal

New Milan signing Alessandro Florenzi, who spent last season on loan at the club from Roma, has thanked the Milan management for believing in his abilities and handing him a permanent deal at the start of the month. The tenacious defender signed a three-year deal after impressing throughout the Rossoneri’s 2021/22 Scudetto winning campaign.

Speaking to SportMediaset in an exclusive interview during Milan’s camp in Austria for their pre-season friendly, Florenzi highlighted his happiness at staying in San Siro and the club’s formidable campaign that led to their 19thScudetto (via MilanNews). 

“I am grateful to Milan for what they have done for me. This club will always have the utmost respect from me on and off the pitch.”

He went on to praise his side’s ability to usurp city rivals Inter and grab the famed league title. However, he insisted that it’s time to focus on new goals.

“It was a great emotion for everyone, the fans had been waiting for this moment for a long time. It was important for many of us, but now we have to turn the page to try to write other important pages for Milan.”

He appeared 30 times for the Rossoneri last season, scoring 2 goals in the process.
