Fabian Ruiz Addresses Barcelona Match and His Napoli Future

Fabian Ruiz discussed the upcoming Europa League clash with Barcelona in an interview: “First of all, it will be a historic game to honor Diego Armando Maradona. He is like a God for the Neapolitans. We still feel the sorrow of the city for his passing. We want to pay homage to the team that brought him to Europe. Plus, we are still bitter about the result of the previous Champions League match against them. We want to exact revenge for that 1-3 loss, which was too harsh.”

The midfielder commented on his future while talking to AS: “The idea of returning to Spain down the line is always present, as that is my home. Clearly, it is flattering that important clubs are interested in signing him. But I am exclusively thinking about Napoli now. I am comfortable here, and we are about to face great challenges.”

Fabian Ruiz is confident for Thursday’s game versus Barcelona: “They are a top club with great values, but we are in good form. I think it will be a balanced tilt and that the result will be different this time.”

The star underlined the importance of Carlo Ancelotti for his career: “I am playing in Italy today mostly thanks to him. He reached out at the time, and it was special to work with him.”

Ruiz weighed in on Lorenzo Insigne’s imminent departure: “It is sad as he spent his entire life here. However, such is the nature of football. We are happy he will embark on this new experience. He will be just fine.”

The Spanish international concluded by talking about the Scudetto race: “I could not even imagine what would happen if we achieved our dream. The fans deserve it. They show their support in the streets every day.”
