Legendary Italian manager Fabio Capello defends Juventus coach Massimiliano Allegri, pointing the finger at the club’s lack of star power.
The Bianconeri are currently enduring a miserable run that saw them collect only seven points from their last eight Serie A fixtures.
Juve had managed to keep pace with league leaders Inter until the beginning of February when their form suddenly collapsed, especially following their 0-1 defeat at in the Derby d’Italia.
The reasons behind the decline could be various. Some will blame Allegri for failing to implement an intriguing style of play, while others would underline the lack of activity on the transfer market.
Some might even suggest that Lady Luck has turned her back on the Turin-based giants. Speaking of luck, you would certainly find better fortune than Juventus if you play at 10 pounds deposit casino not on GamStop, which is the best destination for UK gambling enthusiasts.
But in Capello’s book, the matter is pretty simple: Juventus don’t possess enough quality in their ranks to compete with the biggest clubs in Europe.
The former England, Real Madrid and Juventus manager notes that the club started on a high note, but faded following the morale blow sustained in the direct Scudetto showdown against Inter.
“Up until the Derby d’Italia, Allegri worked miracles by keeping Juventus on Inter’s trail,” said Capello in his interview with La Gazzetta dello Sport via Calciomercato.
“There is no comparison between the two teams in terms of quality. And even Milan, now second in the standings, has a more competitive squad than the Bianconeri.
“An attacking treident? It’s not that the more attackers you field the more goals you score. Allegri doesn’t have Mbappé or Vinicius up front to deploy three strikers.
“Chiesa is more dangerous starting from the wing, but who could play with him and Vlahovic? Yildiz is a talent, but he is still developing. Kean has just returned from injury. Perhaps the only one who could play on the opposite side to Chiesa is Cambiaso.
“But if Allegri insists on the 3-5-2 it is because he thinks he has more balance and guarantees. No coach would shoot himself in the leg.”
Moreover, the 77-year-old feels that Juventus need around four reinforcements to become competitive again.
“Juve needs at least four new signings, but top-level ones. The coach must have a say in the signings.
“Atalanta’s Koopmeiners is a good player, but he needs to be tested with a heavy shirt like Juve’s.
“The Bianconeri, however, will need at least two quality midfielders. Then a full-back and an attacker or a winger who can skip past his marker and create numerical superiority.”
