Fagioli Ignored European Powerhouses to Stay Put at Juventus

Alessandro Fagioli, the older brother of Nicolo Fagioli, has revealed details regarding the young midfielder’s stay in the Bianconeri colors. The 21-year-old starlet has broken into the Juventus first team since emerging last season on loan at Cremonese, starring in the minnows’ promotion to Serie A.

Speaking to Tuttosport (via Tuttomercatoweb), his brother disclosed how Nicolo ignored approaches from not only other Italian bigshots, but also from an European powerhouse.

“When he was in the Cremonese youth team he said no to Manchester United: he didn’t feel ready to leave Italy. And for Juve, he also preferred to decline the interest of Inter, with whom he auditioned, along with Milan and Atalanta. Nicolò’s black and white faith prevailed over everything.”

Fagioli made his way through the youth ranks at Cremonese from 2011 to 2015, before joining Juventus and making his senior debut for the U23 side in 2018. He has 2 goals in 9 appearances for the Bianconeri this term.
