Chiesa Recreates Trezeguet 2001/02 Champions League Record

Juventus continued their immaculate form in Europe by defeating Zenit St. Petersburg 4-2 a the Allianz Stadium on Tuesday – a match in which frontman Federico Chiesa etched himself into Bianconeri folklore by achieving a club record.

Chiesa netted the third goal of the game with a clinical shot after wonderfully dribbling past Zenit defenders. With the goal, the former Fiorentina man becomes the first Juventus player since 2001 to score in four consecutive Champions League fixtures at home.

Back in 2001, legendary French marksman David Trezeguet managed to do exactly the same at the Stadio delle Alpi, when he netted consecutively against Celtic, Rosenborg, Porto and Bayer Leverkusen.

Chiesa has managed to do the same this season against Chelsea and Zenit St. Petersburg by extending his two-match record from the 2020/21 campaign.

The EURO 2020 winner has been absolutely instrumental for the Bianconeri ever since moving from Florence couple of seasons ago.
