Felipe Anderson Confirms Difficulties in Contract Talks

Felipe Anderson stated that the negotiation to extend his Lazio contract wasn’t going smoothly, raising doubt concerning his permanence in the Italian capital. He was quizzed about by TNT Sports Brasil (via Ansa).

“The renewal? I haven’t decided yet. We spoke to reach an agreement, but we haven’t at this point. It’s an important moment for the club. I’m fully focused on the matches. We’ll see what happens.”

Felipe Anderson replied to a question about a possible return to Santos.

“I’d surely like to do so, as they gave me a lot. I wish to come back and help them out one day.”

According to Alfredo Pedullà, the winger asked Lazio for €4M annually to re-up, more than what he’s making currently. The Biancocelesti had other plans for his contract. The parties are on good terms, but his request is tough to stomach, especially since he has been pedestrian on the pitch thus far. Plus, they invested in Gustav Tang Isaksen to replace him down the line.

The camp of Felipe Anderson has started offering him to other sides, including Juventus. They filed his candidacy away, but it’s not certain they’ll act on it.

Our Take on Lazio and Felipe Anderson

There’s likely a gulf between the offer and the demand, and the capital club pays close attention to their wage bill. It wouldn’t be too stunning if the split happened in January already, while it’d be more surprising if he ended up at Juventus.
