Felipe Anderson Keen to Extend His Contract at Lazio

Felipe Anderson delivered a promising update on his long-term future at Lazio after scoring his first Serie A goal of the new campaign against Sassuolo. The 30-year-old opened the scoring at the Mapei Stadium as Maurizio Sarri’s side ran out 2-0 victors

Anderson came into this fixture with four assists to his name, but the goal was missing. However, he managed to get off the mark early in the game, taking advantage of Sassuolo’s grave defensive mistake to put Lazio in front.

His attacking comrade Luis Alberto sealed the deal later in the first half with his 50th competitive goal for Lazio. Sassuolo goalkeeper Andrea Consigli had a stellar night. Otherwise, Sarri’s team would’ve probably left Emiliga-Romagna with at least five goals on the board.

Nonetheless, after a shambolic start to the season, Lazio are back on track, winning back-to-back league matches for the first time in 2023/24. Anderson deserves the credit for tonight’s victory, considering he was a nightmare for Sassuolo defenders all night.

The 30-year-old’s contract at Lazio runs out at the end of the season. But the parties have already opened talks over a potential renewal. Anderson confessed he would be glad to commit his future to the Stadio Olimpico.

We’ve already had a few meetings, we have a very good relationship. Everyone knows that I like being here and we will take our time to make the best decision,” he said, as quoted by Tuttomercatoweb
