Fiorentina Ace Nikola Milenkovic ‘Certain’ to Join Inter

Fiorentina stopper Nikola Milenkovic is the subject of great interest from interested clubs that include Juventus and Inter. The Derby d’Italia rivals have already made initial inquiries to sign the 24-year-old Serbian, but it is the Nerazzurri who look confident of acquiring him as the Bianconeri shift their sights towards Napoli defender Kalidou Koulibaly.

Gleison Bremer remains Inter main target to replace the outbound PSG-linked Milan Skriniar, who is the fulcrum of the burgeoning transfer saga. According to reports from Italian outlet La Nazione (via FCInter1908), the Nerazzurri will only table a concrete offer of €15M for Milenkovic only after Skriniar’s departure is confirmed. They might bring in two newcomers in the back.

The report indicates that his passage to the Nerazzurri is ‘basically certain,’ so much so that Fiorentina executives Daniele Pradè and Joe Barone are forced to accelerate their search for an apt replacement in the backline.

Inter are currently trying to cut short their large 35-man squad and open up avenues to reduce the financial burden that arises from wage demands. Along with Skriniar, the future of fellow defender Stefan De Vrij also hangs in the balance. Milenkovic has 14 goals in 172 appearances for La Viola in five seasons.
