Reports had emerged earlier in the month of the potential departure of Christian Kouamé from Fiorentina. However, as things stand, the Viola could instead hold onto the Ivory Coast international, as per latest information from Tuttomercatoweb (viaViolaNews).
Ligue 1 outfit Nantes are the latest club to show interest in Kouamé, having also opened talks in a bid to lure him to France. But negotiations have not picked up between the two sides for the player whose contract in Firenze expires at the end of the current season.

Fiorentina are said to have made an U-turn in their stance on the striker’s future. Rocco Commisso and company will reportedly offer a contract renewal for Kouamé until 2027.
French outfit Nice and German minnows TSG Hoffenheim have both been linked as well to signing Kouamé on loan deals.
Our Take on Kouamé and Fiorentina
The Ivorian’s stay could prove fruitful for Fiorentina, as Vincenzo Italiano will look to rotate his frontline after the signings of M’Bala Nzola and Lucas Beltran. Likewise, the 25-year-old Kouamé has the chance to prove himself following a couple of sub-par seasons in Firenze.
