High-profile football agent Federico Pastorello, whose P&P Sport Management manages the likes of Napoli’s Alex Meret and Fiorentina’s Arthur, has revealed the details behind another of his clients Tommaso Baldanzi. Amid an uncertain future, two top Italian clubs came the closest to signing Baldanzi this summer, according to Pastorello.
Speaking to SportMediaset (via VoceGiallorossa) in an exclusive, Pastorello shared the idea behind Baldanzi staying put at Empoli.
“Fiorentina came the closest to signing him. We had some discussions. We had also had them with Roma. Baldanzi is was born in 2023 and is greatest talent of his class in Italy, the only one who has played with a certain regularity. Unfortunately, we were unable to find the right buyer.”
Baldanzi ignored advances from outside Italy, and Pastorello thinks it was the right decision.
“He was not ready to look outside Italy, therefore the teams he entertained were limited. But staying in Empoli was the right decision, because he is still young, he can grow, he has the chance to make mistakes without too much pressure. I’m sure that Tommaso will be a young protagonist of this championship.”
Baldanzi has been the subject of heightened interest from several top clubs, including Napoli, Juventus, and Milan.
