Fiorentina Bag Azzurri Starlet Parisi as First Summer Signing

In a surprising turn of events, Fiorentina have sealed the transfer of Empoli starlet Fabiano Parisi. The highly-rated recently ended up under the radar of the Viola, and the Tuscan giants are now reported to have beaten fellow Italian giants such as Inter and Juventus to the signature of the Italy U21 wingback.

The latest information to emerge from Italy indicate to Parisi’s transfer, with Fiorentina finding an agreement with Empoli after an initial offer was turned down. It was an operation executed by agent Mario Giuffredi, who also represents Cristiano Biraghi.

The deal involves €10M plus €1M in bonuses, and Parisi will become Vincenzo Italiano’s first signing of the summer. The 22-year-old will bag €1.5M net per season in Florence.

Empoli president Fabrizio Corsi recently spoke to TG Toscana and revealed how close Parisi is to sealing the transfer, just days after claiming that the youngster would captain the Azzurri minnows next season.

“After three years, we are ready to give him what he wants and allow him to play for a more ambitious club. We are just waiting for a congruous offer from Fiorentina.”

Parisi was targeted by Juventus, Torino, Inter and a handful of other Italian clubs, but finally has chosen Fiorentina as the club to develop himself. The Benevento youth product will leave Empoli after three years.
