Fiorentina CEO Dishes on a Few Transfer Market Topics

Fiorentina haven’t been particularly active at the start of the window despite being linked to a few players. Their CEO Joe Barone commented on their strategy to the press (via SOSFanta).

“We are very prepared and already have a competitive roster. We’ll address our biggest needs, but there isn’t a deadline.  We have to assess some youngsters from the Primavera and others returning from loans first. Then we’ll see where to intervene.”

Sofyan Amrabat has been tipped to depart but is not close to leaving yet.

“We haven’t received any offer at the moment. He’s fully a Fiorentina player. Should they arrive, we’d evaluate them.”

“I don’t see why Luka Jovic shouldn’t stay. We wanted him and brought him here. He had an excellent season and we’re super happy to have him with us. There’s nothing else going on. Boulaye Dia? We’re content with our strikers. We mull every player, and if we need to do something, we’ll do it.”

Fiorentina are in talks to extend Gaetano Castrovilli’s contract.

“We are working on it but the differences are pretty large currently.”

“Nikola Milenkovic is important to us, and there have been no bids for him so far. They would eventually be weighed, as is the case for everybody. Nicolò Zaniolo is an excellent Galatasaray contributor, but I’ve heard Juventus are after him. That’s that.”
