Fiorentina Dueling with Juventus for Cagliari Starlet

Juventus moved early to try to secure the signing of Raoul Bellanova, but Fiorentina have joined the race with vigor. The fullback has drawn plenty of attention across Serie A. Cagliari getting relegated will inevitably put a cap on his price tag.

According to the La Stampa, the Bianconeri, who value the player €10M, have offered multiple youngsters to pick from to the Sardinians. They remain in the lead since they have been in talks with the counterpart and the entourage of the player for a while.

Fiorentina swooped in recently and are trying to overtake Juventus for Bellanova, Corriere dello Sport reports. The Viola are unlikely to confirm Alvaro Odriozola in such role. They did not have a set option to buy him from Real Madrid following the loan spell. Previous reports suggested Los Galacticos wanted €20M for the veteran. Moreover, after a mostly strong campaign, the veteran has not been able to stay healthy in the final two months.

Atalanta, Inter, Napoli and Roma have also expressed preliminary interest in the dynamic defender. Fiorentina could have an edge over Juventus and the other suitors since they could hand Bellanova the starting job right away. Instead, he would have to fight for minutes elsewhere.

The 22-year-old Milan youth product has scored once and provided 2 assists in 31 appearances this season. The Rossoblù will redeem him from Bordeaux for less than €1M. Despite previous hints, the Bianconeri have yet to announce the extension of Mattia De Sciglio in the same role.
