Just one day after Genoa were reported to be interested in Diego Demme, Fiorentina have also emerged as a viable destination for the German midfielder, despite the prospect of a swap already existing between Napoli and the Viola.
As per ViolaNews, Fiorentina will conduct extensive talks with the Partenopei in order to understand the feasibility of operations before the transfer market shuts close. Demme, who has long been excluded from Napoli and Rudi Garcia’s plans, is open to moving away from the club. He recently followed Fiorentina on Instagram.
Several German clubs, including Hertha Berlin on the premise of making him captain, have been in touch with Aurelio De Laurentiis and co. for the services of Demme.
❗️Understand that Hertha BSC bosses made a very good job in the talks with Diego #Demme, but the 31 y/o has rejected the move for now – confirmed ✔️ Demme is likely to stay at @sscnapoli.

31-year-old Demme joined Napoli from RB Leipzig for €10M in January 2020. He experienced a fruitful couple of starting campaigns in the South of Italy before gradually being sidelined under Luciano Spalletti after the emergence of Stanislav Lobotka and Pietro Zielinski.
Demme was left out of Garcia’s squad for the first two games of the new season, against Frosinone and Sassuolo respectively, which has only spiked interest in suitor clubs. While Napoli will unlikely be executing any further arrivals following the arrival of Jesper Lindstrom, the future of Demme still hangs in the balance.
