Fiorentina Eyeing Pair of High-Profile Options for Right-Back Role

Fiorentina aim to add a quality right-back in the final days of the window. They recently sold Pol Lirola to Olympique Marseille for €6.5M. They thought they would replace him with Davide Zappacosta. However, Atalanta won the race with a late bid to buy him permanently.

The Viola are now tracking Zeki Celik and Alvaro Odriozola for the role, Gianluca Di Marzio reports. The Turkish defender is currently their no.1 target. They are trying to arrange an initial loan deal with a conditioned obligation to buy. However, the two clubs need to come to terms on the fee. Lille asked for €12M, while Fiorentina offered €8M. The 24-year-old has tallied 5 goals and 11 assists in 105 matches with Les Dogues.

If they could not reach an agreement with the French team, they would switch their focus to Odriozola. They already pursued him last January. The negotiation would be less challenging as Real Madrid would easily let him go out on loan. He was previously targeted by Milan, who ultimately decided to bring in Alessandro Florenzi instead. However, it is not 100 percent certain the Spaniard would accept the transfer to Fiorentina.

The Viola currently have only Lorenzo Venuti in the position. They kept tabs on Jens Stryger Larsen earlier in the window. The Danish fullback might leave Udinese as he has only a year left on his contract. He has been in talks with several clubs. Fiorentina also see Andrea Conti as an alternative option in case they could not acquire their preferred objectives, Tuttosport reports.
