Fiorentina Fear Juventus Behind Issues with Vlahovic Extension

Dusan Vlahovic decided to stay at Fiorentina in the summer despite receiving lucrative proposals. The striker was on Atletico Madrid and Tottenham’s radar, but he never pushed to leave. Moreover, the offers did not fully satisfy Fiorentina and arrived late in the window.

However, his commitment to the club has not turned into a new contract after deadline day. According to Tuttomercatoweb, the Viola have accepted almost all of the requests of his entourage. They agreed to €4M wages, a signing bonus, a sizeable commission, and an €80M release clause. But the striker and his agent keep stalling.

Fiorentina are fearful he will not put pen-to-paper to force his way out next summer. His current contract is up in 2023. The club would have no choice but to let him go if he did not extend it. In particular, the Viola believe Juventus to be behind the strategy, with the promise of a large salary and a starring role. It may be difficult for the parties to reconcile because the starlet has lofty objectives in mind, the site adds.

Fiorentina owner Rocco Commisso slammed the Serbian and his agents earlier this week. “We have been negotiating for months. He would get the biggest contract in the history of Fiorentina, but I do not know if he will sign it. I told him that he was taking a big risk. I am starting to get bothered by the situation. He is not the only player in the group, and we want to keep it focused.”
