The desire by Fiorentina to boost their attack line with a talented striker has taken them all the way to Madrid, as they are in talks to onboard Luka Jovic. Los Blancos’ outcast has quickly become the Viola’s primary target, is inching closer to a move to Stadio Artemio Franchi.
Having extended coach Vincenzo Italiano’s contract, the Viola management is now looking to make waves in the transfer market. According to latest reports from La Gazzetta dello Sport (via Tuttomercatoweb), the Serbian striker is positive regarding a move to Italy, whereas Madrid themselves are keen on letting him leave on loan.
Fiorentina are asking for Real Madrid to cover at least 50% of Luka Jović salary to complete one-season loan deal. It would mean €3m for Fiorentina, €3m for Real Madrid until June 2023. ?? #transfers
Negotiations are still ongoing to find a solution as soon as possible.

However, Fiorentina have demanded that Los Merengues pay 50 percent of the salary of Jovic next season, and the parties are still discussing such aspect of the deal. Carlo Ancelotti does not include the Serbian marksman in his 2022/23 plans, and moreover, the striker has the incentive of gaining game time ahead of the 2022 FIFA World Cup at the end of the year.
The Gigliati are poised to make a first official offer by the end of the week if everything goes according to plan. A direct bid for a season-long loan transfer will be put forward, but the full terms of the contract – whether Fiorentina will have an option or obligation to buy Jovic – are still unknown.
