Retegui, who played for both Boca Juniors and River Plate in the youth ranks, is expected to move to Europe in the coming months. Despite representing Italy at the international level, the 24-year-old was born and raised in Argentina, spending his entire juvenile and senior career in South America.
Following an eye-catching season-long loan at Tigre, Retegui has earned a host of admirers in Europe. That must be sound to Boca’s ears, with his parent club rubbing their hands ahead of the imminent sale. The only unsolved matter is where he’ll be playing next season.
