Fiorentina Make Dominguez Priority to Succeed Amrabat

Fiorentina have long resigned themselves to lose star midfielder Sofyan Amrabat. The Morocco international, who shone bright at the 2022 FIFA World Cup, is nearing a Premier League move, with Manchester United knocking on the Viola’s door. And the Florentines have not delayed in shortlisting a potential replacement – Bologna’s Nicolas Dominguez is under the radar to succeed Amrabat.

As per Tuttomercatoweb, despite Thiago Motta’s intention to retain Dominguez, it will be hard for Bologna to ignore advances for the central midfielder. The Argentine has played an integral part in Bologna’s recent ascendancy, but with no developments surrounding his soon-to-expire contract – in 2024 – a transfer seems the most probable outcome.

Fiorentina are understood to have placed Dominguez atop their priority list. However, Lazio and Sevilla are also keeping close tabs on proceedings in the event he expresses his intention to leave.

Without a contract extension, the Rossoblu will be forced to come to terms with Dominguez leaving for free next summer, instead of bagging a sizeable transfer income of around the €20M mark.
