Fiorentina Make First Move for River Plate Talent Beltran

Fiorentina have tabled an initial offer for River Plate sensation Lucas Beltran, who has been turning heads across the pond in Italy, with Milan also reportedly interested in his services. Beltran has already given his yes to a potential move to Serie A, but it remains to be seen which club will strike the deal for him.

As per Corriere dello Sport (via ViolaNews), a low-ball offer of €15M including bonuses has been proposed to the Buenos Aires giants. A percentage of future resale in favour of River Plate has also been included in the offer.

However, it will expectedly be turned down given the release clause of €20M set upon him, which is likely to rise to €25M in the last week of the Argentine transfer market, from 8th to 17th August precisely, as per the report.

Beltran, who posseses an Italian passport, has also been linked to perhaps starring for the Italy national team under Roberto Mancini. Although he has starred for the Argentina U20 team, he is not on the radar of the senior team selection and could soon follow the steps of Mateo Retegui. Atletico Madrid and Benfica have also been linked with Beltran.
