Fiorentina Mulling Offensive Moves for January Window

Fiorentina spent a lot to overhaul their attack last summer, but they haven’t gotten great returns on their investments. M’Bala Nzola and Lucas Beltran have combined for just four goals. The Argentine has yet to score in Serie A.

Despite that, the Viola isn’t thinking about onboarding new strikers in January, Corriere dello Sport informs. The duo will be given time to turn things around without further pressure. Christian Kouamé has also occasionally manned the role too. While he has been bouncy, he hasn’t produced more than his teammates.

Rather than intervening in that position, Fiorentina are weighing signing a left winger with some goals in him. They are interested in Armand Laurienté, but he has a €25M price tag. Riccardo Sottil, Jonathan Ikoné, Josip Brekalo, and Kouamé have alternated in that spot so far. Neither has separated himself from the pack.

The Gigliati could be offered Lorenzo Insigne and Boulaye Dia, who want to leave their current clubs, Enzo Bucchioni told Radio Marte (via Intopic). The latter has a €22M release clause.

Our Take on Fiorentina

Maybe they were a little too quick to move on from Arthur Cabral, even though they got a great sum for him. The pairing was fine on paper, a prospect with high potential and a proven scorer already familiar with Vincenzo Italiano, but it hasn’t panned out. It’s too early to make changes unless Nzola gets called up for AFCON. A prolific left winger would surely lift and complete them.
